What You Need to Know About Disney Springs

This has to be one of our favourite places on Disney property and it is probably one of the least planned-for activities for first time guests at Walt Disney World.

Everyone focuses on the parks – of course – that’s ultimately what we go for right?

But

…don’t forget to plan for time out of the parks at other amazing places such as Disney Springs.

Ok, so, what is it exactly?

Disney Springs is basically an entertainment and shopping district on Disney property which not only has Disney shops and entertainment but also general shopping such as Sephora, Alex and Ani, Levis and Volcom along with way more!

It can be as cheap or as pricey as you choose and it is free to enter, which is a huge plus whilst on your Walt Disney World holiday. If all you wanted to do was window shop, watch some free entertainment and drink free ice water (free at any drinks stand) then you will be happy here for a good few hours. Equally, you can blow all your holiday spending money on day one (easily done, trust us!), eat a lovely sit-down meal and spoil yourself with a very expensive desert at Amorette’s Patisserie.

There is something here to suit all no matter what.

The vibe here in the day is very different to the evening so this is another place you may want consider the time of day you go. The day time is very chilled - plenty of shopping and food with some lovely bars and restaurants to relax in. There will be entertainment in the day but this will be more of a relaxed feel and the day time does tend to be a lot quieter than an evening.

In the evenings things tend to really liven up with dancing and singing in the streets, night time entertainment at the bars and things tend to be pretty BUSY - especially on a Saturday night.

There is always something for everyone here; there is not only entertainment that little ones will enjoy, such as dance parties and comedy, but also acoustic guitarists and other more mature acts which can entertain an older crowd while you wander round the shops or get a nice meal.

There is SO much to see at Disney Springs, from pin traders to the M and M store, The Art of Disney, The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, to the House of Blues, bakeries and wine bars. You could very easily spend an afternoon here mooching round and relaxing with some live music.

It’s incredibly difficult to choose our favourite thing to do here, but Dockside Margaritas is definitely up there for us. We love sitting in this open air bar by the lake, having a drink, some free water and listening to a country singer. Another favourite of ours is World of Disney, this is just heaven for any Disney fan! The store is split up into about 8 sections with all the Disney merch you could imagine – jewellery, homeware, all the soft toys you could ever want, princesses, Mickey ears, clothing! Just everything!

These are absolutely two places we will be re-visiting in on our Orlando 2023 holiday and we will be making multiple trips back to Disney springs in our short week.
